Sandblasting uses specially granulated sodium bicarbonate granite sprayed at high pressure onto an item to remove contaminants, and lightly etch the surface of the metal to promote the best possible adhesion of the Powder Coating.
Powder coating is a process in which a dry polymer resin combined with pigment is electrostatically applied to a metal item. The item is then baked in a kiln at 400F. With the addition of heat the coating liquifies, and chemically reacts to produce long molecular chains. These chains bind together resulting in a high cross-link density coating that is resistant to break down on the molecular level. Because of this process, Powder Coating provides a durable finish that is unmatched by liquid paint.
